Jessenia Garcia

While Jessenia Garcia does not speak, her complex, multi-layered canvases reveal she has much to express visually. Her work is characterized by a series of marks both delicate and bold. The end result can be a poetic juxtaposition of these opposing impulses. She experiments with a variety of media from acrylic paint to ink to colored markers, but often works with pencil in a private sketchbook. Garcia’s instructor has aptly commented that her artwork “encompasses the contrast between intense chaos and peaceful quietude.”
