Sakura of America spotlights CE artists for Mental Health Awareness Month

Sakura and Creativity Explored logos

This May, Sakura of America has partnered with Creativity Explored to support the creative visions of neurodiverse and disabled artists for Mental Health Awareness Month.

Sakura's products have been empowering creativity in the CE studios for decades, and we are thrilled to continue this partnership and share stories about CE artists who use Sakura products. Sakura was also one of the amazing sponsors of this year's Art Changes Lives.

Sakura of America and CE share a common mission, believing in a world of endless possibilities fueled by human creativity. Together, we strongly believe that art is for everyone. Since May is Mental Health Awareness Month, we have asked CE artists to share with us why creating art makes them feel good, how art and creativity uplift their moods, and how Sakura art supplies assist them in this process.

Throughout the month, stay tuned to learn about a few artists at Creativity Explored who utilize Sakura art supplies and discover their motivations for creating art.

Check out the artist spotlights on the Sakura of America Instagram @SakuraOfAmerica. We’ll be following along on the CE Instagram, too, @CreativityExplored!

I make art because it makes me happy. Art making is good for you because it lets the good part, inside of you, it lets it out - it runs wild.

I really get into it. I just start out and let imagination take its course. Personally, I like going to the program [Creativity Explored] because it keeps my heart pumping.

I think it’s a beautiful thing. It’s a part of me. I think art is a part of people’s beauty. It’s fun too. If I’m stressed art is a way that I relax. It takes all the stress away.
