Triplets have misadventures. Triplets are a girl gang. Triplets can get up to something. Triplets are The Fates. Triplets are creation myths. Triplets are famous. Triplets can get plastic surgery and shoot guns. Triplets are mega babes multiplied by three.
Andrew Bixler and Christina Marie Fong collect an archive of options for a superlative life. Their images become characters that transcend a single moment of portraiture. Both artists become movie directors, concerned with line and composition but equally concerned with the story behind each carefully chosen sister, pop star and cat. The power behind Andrew’s giant triptych of triplets is almost biblical in its loudness, and magnifies the importance of a coven of Triplets who also happen to be Giantesses, who also happen to be nude— which seems expected in a world made of Giantess Triplets. Christina Marie Fong is intentionally unintentional in her painted reveries of famous people who always look like they bring the party. There is also something mythical and matriarchal about the party they bring. As if everyone invited are cats, Giantesses, and Triplets.
