Galerie Polysémie presents work by CE artists in France

Installation view at Galerie Polysémie

Untitled by Vincent Jackson, marker on paper, 15.5 x 11 inches

Galerie Polysémie in Marseille, known for art brut and outsider art, presents drawings from five artists at Creativity Explored in a group show, Des cartes pour se perdre (translated as Maps to get lost). The exhibition questions the status of the map in the work of art. Inexpensive medium or real subject, mixing background and surface, the map opens up a space where creation goes beyond established borders and where art unfolds off the beaten track to get lost or to regain. The map in art brut tells us about the diversity of origins and multiple itineraries of life: as much a support as a subject, it appears in all its polysemy.

Featured artists: Daniel Green, Vincent Jackson, John Patrick McKenzie, Jose Nunez, and Sara O'Sullivan.
