Isaac Haney-Owens
b. 1991, Oakland, CA ∙ CE artist since 2013
Isaac Haney-Owens doesn’t recall how he initially became interested in photography, but he does remember he’s been taking pictures since early childhood. Haney-Owens used a film camera for his first photographic practices but has since switched over to a digital format because he enjoys the immediacy of seeing his images instantaneously. Initially, Isaac recreated vintage signs as miniature dioramas, and now he is recreating them as 2D paintings.
A passionate spokesperson for CE and our artists, Haney-Owens has spoken at numerous CE events.
He curated his first exhibition at the CE gallery in summer 2019, entitled Cityscape. Isaac’s art was featured in OMCA’s 2023 exhibition called Into The Brightness, and one of his pieces from that exhibition was purchased by OMCA for their permanent collection.
Isaac provided the designs for the SF Icons Burnt Caramel Truffles from CE’s long-time licensee and community partner Recchiuti Confections.
