Heidi Hennessy
b. 1955 ∙ CE artist from 1983 - 2011
While at CE, Heidi Hennessy created detailed pencil drawings combined with painted washes of color. Hennessy was fascinated by objects in motion; for example, she frequently used sailboats and horses as a motif repeated in one composition. Hennessy worked from selected images and from her imagination. She created highly detailed scenes with a lot of activity. In addition to drawing scenes based in nature and the outdoors, she was also inspired by science fiction. Hennessy painted Star Trek’s Dr. Spock as well as planets, stars, and crafts in outer space.
