Anne Connolly
b. 1951 ∙ CE artist from 1987 - 2015
Anne Connolly is a painter and printmaker who typically creates energetic abstractions using bright complementary colors. Connolly’s distinctive style features bold, forceful brushstrokes that create overlapping layers of paint. The interactions between these layers produce interesting results: when opaque, one layer obscures the one underneath. When Connolly dilutes the paint, the layers combine, producing new colors at their intersection. These dynamic compositions give Connolly’s work great depth.
